Tokayev made the corresponding statement following a visit to the operational-tactical exercises "Kaisar-2021" in the Alma-Ata region.
“We see growing concern and anxiety in society about the situation in Afghanistan.
The events taking place in this country do not pose a direct threat to Kazakhstan, but, of course, they create certain risks.
Therefore, we must closely monitor the development of the situation and be ready to adequately respond to any challenges, ”his press service quotes Tokayev.
According to him, in conditions of aggravation of the international situation, the power structures of Kazakhstan should be maximally mobilized.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan announced that it had taken measures to increase vigilance in connection with the aggravation of the situation in Afghanistan.
