the first half of this year, high-risk groups such as medical staff and the elderly were vaccinated, in the second half of this year, the vaccination strategy is to promptly get all citizens.

Next month, 8.6 million people in their 50s will be vaccinated first.

[Jung Eun-kyung / Director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Priority begins with vaccination until the age of 50. Regarding the type of vaccine, we plan to make a decision on a monthly basis considering the supply situation and the timing, so it is difficult to say now.] Those in their

40s and younger will have their turn from August, but they are not divided into those in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Vaccination is a viable option.

However, kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school teachers and students who are in their third year of high school are vaccinated during summer vacation.

Detailed plans are announced today, when the number of primary doses is expected to exceed 14 million.

Meanwhile, on the 27th of last month, a man in his early 30s who was diagnosed with the second thrombocytopenic thrombosis in Korea after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine died.

The man was confirmed to have no underlying disease.

Health authorities have so far said that the death was presumed to be due to thrombocytopenic thrombosis, but if the cause of death is confirmed, it will be recorded as the first case of death due to a side effect of a vaccine.

Health officials said the first patient with thrombosis was discharged last weekend after symptoms improved.
