To consider standardization of services for mutual use of cashless payment 15:08 on June 3

Major banks, telecommunications companies, etc. have set up new meetings to consider standardization of services for mutual use such as electronic money, which has different services for each company, and cashless payment.

This meeting was established at the call of a company that operates a so-called cryptocurrency = crypto asset exchange, and provides cashless payment services, including Mizuho Bank, Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking, and "Suica". Major operators such as JR East, NTT Group and KDDI will participate.

At the meeting, we will consider standardization of services and systems so that electronic money, which has different services for each company, and cashless payment can be linked and mutually used.

We would like to discuss technical issues such as storing transaction records distributed on the net and using blockchain technology, and propose a standardization plan this fall.

At the meeting, the Bank of Japan, the Financial Services Agency, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will also participate as observers, and we would like to discuss the impact of the introduction of the electronic currency "digital currency" issued by the central bank.

It is expected that convenience will be enhanced if standardization of disorderly cashless payments is realized, but how to prevent fraud when linking many services is also an issue.
