A livestock suspected of highly pathogenic avian influenza was found at a duck farm located in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said that as a result of conducting a pre-shipment inspection of the ducks on the farm, H5 type AI antigen was detected and is confirming whether it is highly pathogenic.

Although highly pathogenic AI has recently been confirmed in wild birds, this is the first time a suspicious case has emerged from a poultry farm.

The government initiated preemptive quarantine measures, such as issuing a temporary suspension order for poultry farms, livestock facilities, and livestock vehicles across the country for 48 hours from 0 am on the 28th.
