Haute couture and technology regularly go hand in hand.

Gucci's latest bet goes in the same direction, but materialized in what is possibly one of the most discreet wearable electronics products on the market.

The Tuscan brand has created a special edition of Oura's smart ring embellished with

and the house logo.

The ring, which is paired with an app on the iPhone or Android phone,

, such as heart rate, physical activity index or body temperature.

Its creators say it's even

and the sensors are closer to the skin.

To measure pulses, it uses a sensor that detects blood flow in the arteries of the ring finger, rather than the veins on the wrist.

Since the correct ring size varies from person to person and the fit is permanent, not like a watch strap, Oura first sends out a fitting kit to take the wearer's measurements.

The original version of the device that Oura sells has a price of approximately 300 euros, but it will be tied to a subscription service of 3 euros per month that includes access to historical data and an interpretation of the different data collected.

Gucci's version is three times more expensive.
