• Useful life OCU points out the obsolescence of the iPhone due to its new updates

Haute couture and technology regularly go hand in hand.

Device cases, special editions of phones and tablets, straps for smart watches... by now

you've pretty much experimented with everything.

Gucci's latest bet goes in the same direction, but materialized in what is possibly one of the most discreet wearable electronics products on the market.

The Tuscan brand has created a special edition of Oura's smart ring embellished with

18-carat gold

and the house logo.

The ring, which is paired with an app on the iPhone or Android phone,

is capable of measuring many of the parameters that smartwatches also measure

, such as heart rate, physical activity index or body temperature.

Its creators say it's even

more accurate than smartwatches because it fits more firmly

and the sensors are closer to the skin.

To measure pulses, it uses a sensor that detects blood flow in the arteries of the ring finger, rather than the veins on the wrist.

The ring weighs

4 grams

and can also measure the quality of sleep.

It is charged in a special base, similar to a Qi wireless charging base for phones, and

has an autonomy of approximately one week

.

Since the correct ring size varies from person to person and the fit is permanent, not like a watch strap, Oura first sends out a fitting kit to take the wearer's measurements.

The original version of the device that Oura sells has a price of approximately 300 euros, but it will be tied to a subscription service of 3 euros per month that includes access to historical data and an interpretation of the different data collected.

Gucci's version is three times more expensive.

It costs 950 euros

, but includes a lifetime subscription to the monthly support service.
