There is still a long way from "vocational school students being robbed" to vocational education

The development of vocational education, from the individual level, is to give "everyone has the opportunity to shine"; from the national level, it is to train hundreds of millions of high-quality laborers, technical and skilled personnel, and skilled craftsmen, and promote the development of Chinese manufacturing. China creates change.

We must work hard to make vocational education truly a "reservoir" of high-skilled talents starting from changing our concepts and deepening reforms.

According to a CCTV report on December 12, my country’s middle and senior skilled workers are in high demand and high salaries, but there is a large gap. There are vocational school graduates with "two to four employment notices."

The report sparked heated discussions. The two topics of "vocational school students manning 2 to 4 offers" and "vocational technical college students being robbed before graduation" caused hot searches.

Many netizens said that "this is what vocational education should be like" and "it is indeed necessary to change the concept."

"Vocational school students were robbed before graduation" is undoubtedly good news for vocational education.

However, we must also face it. At present, on the one hand, employers go to vocational schools to "rob people". Many netizens praised that vocational schools may not be a worse choice than the college entrance examination; on the other hand, in reality, many students do not If you are willing to go to vocational schools, the society is not optimistic about the prospect of vocational education, that is, to learn skills and become skilled workers. Vocational education is still "ice and fire", and some netizens even bluntly: No matter how much "Offers" are, vocational education is not enough. "delicious".

Indeed, vocational school students are relatively easy to find jobs, and the current "skills shortage" spreads from the coast to the inland. For vocational school students, finding a job is not difficult.

However, the income, development prospects, and social status of vocational school graduates after employment are the fundamental issues related to whether more parents support their children in vocational schools.

Undoubtedly, whether it is in terms of income, social reputation, or development prospects, "being a skilled worker in a vocational school" is not really proud.

At present, my country is at a critical period of economic transformation and upgrading. With continuous adjustment of economic structure and industrial transformation and upgrading, the demand for high-skilled talents is increasing.

However, the structural contradictions in my country's labor market are more prominent, and there is a large shortage of skilled workers.

According to data from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, as of now, there are more than 200 million skilled workers in my country. Skilled workers account for only 26% of the total employed population, and the total number of skilled personnel is still insufficient.

Among the 100 occupations with the "most lack of jobs" in the country released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in the third quarter of this year, 58 belonged to "manufacturing and related personnel."

Although various places have played high-paying "golden signs" and joined the "grabbing war" of skilled talents, the shortage of skilled talents has not been alleviated, and it is even intensifying.

An important reason behind this is that it is difficult for lagging vocational education to import more skilled talents and skilled craftsmen for industrial development.

In many places, the foundation of vocational education is relatively weak and development is difficult.

Deepening the integration of production and education, strengthening vocational education, accelerating the improvement of the skill quality of workers, expanding the team of skilled workers, and alleviating the contradiction between the supply and demand of skilled talents are both urgent and long-term solutions.

To crack the embarrassment of "applauding but not popular" in vocational education requires the joint efforts of the government, enterprises, vocational schools and families.

To make vocational education truly proud, we must first reverse social concepts.

On June 7 this year, the "Vocational Education Law (Revised Draft)" clarified the framework of the modern vocational education system, so that the learning achievements of vocational education and general education are integrated and mutually recognized.

Previously, the State Council issued the "National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan" that "Vocational education and general education are two different types of education and have the same important status."

Only by rectifying the name of vocational and technical education, and only by opening up the channels for the development of vocational and technical talents, can we fundamentally reverse the reality of discrimination in vocational education.

To make vocational education truly proud, it must promote its own integrated development.

At present, my country’s vocational education is still out of touch with the economy and society, and the training and use of talents are relatively out of touch. All localities must build to match the local industrial system, adapt to the full employment of the society, effectively connect middle and high vocational education, and integrate vocational education and general education. A modern vocational education system that promotes each other between the education chain and the industrial chain, and is full of vigor and vitality.

In particular, it is necessary to abandon the idea of simply imitating ordinary colleges and universities, change the phenomenon of "farming on the blackboard" and "turning on the machine in textbooks", adhere to the integration of production and education, and school-enterprise cooperation to make the development of vocational education more distinctive.

In addition, improve the training, use, evaluation and incentive mechanism of skilled talents, strengthen incentive guarantees, establish a remuneration distribution system for skilled talents oriented to reflect the value of skills, and vigorously improve the professional honor and economic benefits of skilled talents.

Let the vocational education, which is responsible for cultivating skilled talents, become “sweet” as workers.

The development of vocational education, from the individual level, is to give "everyone has the opportunity to shine"; from the national level, it is to train hundreds of millions of high-quality laborers, technical and skilled personnel, and skilled craftsmen, and promote the development of Chinese manufacturing. China creates change.

Starting from changing our concepts and starting with deepening reforms, we must make arduous efforts to make vocational education truly a "reservoir" of highly skilled talents. We still have a long way to go.
