In May, the sun is shining and the mountain flowers are blooming.
At 8 o'clock in the morning, when the reporter walked into the clinic in Zixi Village, Luxi County, Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province, village doctor Yi Peisheng (see Figure ②, photo by our reporter Wang Dan) was measuring the blood pressure of 58-year-old Huang Caizhao.
"The blood pressure has risen recently. Go back and pay attention to a light diet." Yi Peisheng warned.
There used to be no village doctors in Zixi Village, and people had to go to the township hospital more than 10 miles away.
In 1976, after attending a primary health care training course, 20-year-old Yi Peisheng returned to Zixi Village to become a village doctor.
Being a village doctor is not easy, but Yi Peisheng enjoys it.
"Sometimes he visits the doctor urgently and only comes back at dawn. We are all worried." said his daughter-in-law Hu Liyuan.
Over the years, Yi Peisheng has never charged patients for diagnosis and treatment, and often provides free medical examinations for the needy households in the village.
"The most important thing is to give every patient a good view of the disease." Yi Peisheng said.
Unlike Yi Peisheng, who has practiced medicine for more than 40 years, Fu Wenna, a doctor from Dahuting Village Health Center, Niudian Town, Xinmi City, Henan Province (see Figure ①, photo by our reporter Bi Jingjin) is a "post-80s."
It was 5 o'clock in the afternoon, and there were still more than 10 villagers lined up at Fu Wenna's table, some of them even came from other towns.
"No matter how late, Sister Wenna's clinic always lights up for us." Villager Li Xiaoqing said that as long as villagers encounter health problems, they always think of Fu Wenna first.
In the process of poverty alleviation, in addition to providing free treatment for patients from impoverished families and free medical examinations for the villagers, Fu Wenna also cared about the daily lives of some impoverished patients and sponsored 6 impoverished children to go to school.
In the winter of 2001, an old man with a cane and covered in snow stumbled to the village clinic with the support of his son.
The old man's name is Liu Xiuyun, and she lives on each other with her mentally disabled son.
Fu Wenna not only waived the cost of treatment, but also took the elderly back to her home to take care of them until the elderly fully recovered.
Since then, Fu Wenna has been treating Liu Xiuyun for free until the death of the old man in 2016.
"Rural doctors are an important force in providing medical and health services to the vast number of rural residents. With the development of society, residents have higher and higher requirements for medical experience, and grassroots health service personnel will play an increasingly important role. Village clinics serve as rural residents. An important part of health services needs to be continuously strengthened. At the same time, the protection of rural doctors should be strengthened from the aspects of incentive mechanism and career development." said Zhang Xiaojuan, an associate researcher at the Institute of Medical Information, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.

After graduating from health school in 1992, Xie Ai'e and her husband, who was also a doctor, came to Chuantouzui Village and used a cabin with an area of less than 10 square meters as a sanitary room, and served as a "ship doctor" for fishermen for more than 20 years.
Since 2016, Honghu has started the project of returning fishing to the lake and landing fishermen ashore.
Xie Ai'e and her husband also moved to Chuantouzui Village and built a clinic in Chuantouzui Village.
Although it only takes a few minutes to walk from home to the clinic, she and her husband always live in the clinic.
"I have my mobile phone turned on 24 hours a day, and the villagers are on call." Xie Ai'e said.
Nowadays, Xie Aie invites experts from Honghu City to come to the village for free clinics every year, and nearby village doctors also follow along.
If the city organizes village doctor training, Xie Ai'e will also actively sign up.
"Learning more can solve more health problems for the villagers." Xie Ai'e said.
"A qualified village doctor must not only be enthusiastic, but also have excellent medical skills." Fu Wenna said that she often went to the city hospital for further study, and insisted on self-study in her spare time, and published more than 60 medical articles.
In 2014, her favorite hospital invited her to join.
"Seeing the folks waiting for consultation at the health center, I chose to stay." Fu Wenna said, "I believe that as long as the skills are excellent and the patients trust, the village doctors can also do a good job."
Yao Lan, a professor at the School of Medicine and Health Management of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, said: “At present, the rural public medical and health service system based on rural doctors is constantly improving. It is necessary to continue to encourage rural doctors to participate in various forms of training and learning to improve medical care. Level, making the services of rural doctors more efficient and accurate."
Coordinate deployment and strengthen protection

Initially, the health room where Yi Peisheng was located was only 50 square meters, and the equipment was not complete.
In 2014, the Luxi County Health Bureau built a new health clinic for Zixi Village, which is divided into upper and lower floors, and the 140 square meters of space has more complete functions.
"In the past, there were only a few general hospital beds. Now there are diagnostic beds and delivery beds. Medical conditions are constantly improving." Yi Peisheng said.
In 2019, in order to strengthen village-level medical protection, the local government once again allocated funds for equipment purchase.
Crusher, decocting machine, incubator, etc. are all available.
"There are also blood glucose meters and sphygmomanometers that villagers can use for free." Yi Peisheng said, "Now, both the village clinic and county hospital have set up a through train for the referral of critically ill patients. From 2020, Luxi County Health Bureau Start planning to connect the medical network to the village level. If the villagers want to transfer to the hospital, the medical record information is clear at a glance." Yi Peisheng said.
Liu Xiaohui, head of the Primary Health Division of the Jiangxi Provincial Health Commission, believes that one of the important measures to promote the construction of the rural doctor team is to implement the integrated management of rural health services. "The key to doing a good job in rural health is people. I hope that more young people will join the team of rural doctors." In the 52-year-old Xie Ai'e, the biggest concern is the inheritance of rural doctors.
"In order to increase the professional attractiveness of rural doctors, more system guarantees should be introduced in terms of income level and pension benefits." Kan Quancheng, director of the Henan Provincial Health Commission, said that in recent years, Henan has promoted "village employment in villages" and strengthened The village doctors are deployed in a coordinated manner to improve the income level of village doctors, bring qualified village doctors into the unified management of township hospitals, and rationally regulate the staffing of village clinics through adjustments within the county.
In addition, in 2021, Henan will increase the proportion of subsidies for basic public health services at the village level by 50%, and grant subsidies for the operation of village clinics.
