The Yongsan Park site near the presidential office will be opened to the general public for ten days from the 10th to the 19th of this month after completing the expansion of convenience facilities.

It receives 2,500 visitors per day, 500 people five times daily, some of which are allowed to visit the front yard of the Oval Office.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced today (2nd) that part of the Yongsan Park site will be opened on a trial basis in order to reflect the public opinion in the process of building Yongsan Park in Seoul.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport originally announced that it would open a trial opening on the 25th of last month, but abruptly canceled it.

An official from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explained, "To meet the public's interest in Yongsan Park, which is opening its doors for the first time in 120 years, we have expanded and supplemented convenience facilities such as shade screens, benches, and food and beverages to welcome the public."

The pilot opening target is a straight-line section of about 1.1 km from the southern side of the presidential office to the 'Sports Field' on the northern side of the National Museum of Korea, and it is an area returned by US Forces Korea.

There are two entrances to the park: the entrance to the residence of the USFK general on the side of the entrance of Sinyongsan Station and the north entrance to the National Museum of Korea.

The trial opening will be held from 9 am to 7 pm every day for 10 days from the 10th to the 19th.

It is divided into 5 sessions a day and plans to receive 500 visitors at a time interval of 2 hours.

However, the first entry is at 11 am on the 10th, and the last entry is at 1 pm (exit at 3 pm) on the 19th.

Citizens entering the park can tour the grounds for two hours.

It is expected that a total of 25,000 people will be able to experience Yongsan Park in advance during the pilot opening period.
