[Explanation] On April 22, the highest temperature on the banks of the Jinsha River at the junction of Sichuan and Yunnan exceeded 39 degrees. The electrical and mechanical installation work in the underground powerhouse on the right bank of the Baihetan Hydropower Station was still in full swing. About 800 unit installation workers were working on the first batch of units. Power generation makes the final sprint.

[Explanation] Baihetan Hydropower Station is located in Ningnan County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province and Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, with a total installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts. It is the world's largest hydropower station under construction and the second largest hydropower station in the world after the Three Gorges Project. .

The Baihetan Hydropower Station plans to realize the commissioning of the first batch of units for power generation by July 2021, and to realize the commissioning of all units for power generation by July 2022.

Baihetan (power station) is divided into left bank and right bank power stations. There are 8 units on the left bank and the right bank, each of which is 1 million kilowatts.

The hydroelectric generator set is a core part of the hydropower station. The hydroelectric generator set at Baihetan has a single unit capacity of 1 million kilowatts.

This concept means that this unit can generate 1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity when it rotates for one hour, or 1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. This (one unit) is equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of a small and medium-sized county of 500,000 (population).

[Explanation] Overlooking the Baihetan Hydropower Station from the air, the peaks on both sides of the bank are facing each other, and the dam is soaring into the clouds.

Standing in front of the dam of the power station, Zhang Kui, chief engineer of the Baihetan Electromechanical Project Department of China Energy Construction Gezhouba Electromechanical Company, said that the dam has a total of 6 diversion bottom holes, and the bottom diversion hole closing gate is a sign of water storage in the reservoir area. Sex node.

On April 6th of this year, the (power station) successfully closed the gates to store water.

You can see that there are 6 holes at the bottom of the back (dam). The closing of the gates for water storage means that all 6 diversion holes are closed.

Then open a drain hole next to it, which is the "ecological diversion hole", which not only guarantees the amount of ecological water downstream, but also realizes the storage of the reservoir.

[Explanation] It is reported that since the Baihetan Hydropower Station was officially impounded, the water level of the reservoir has been rising at an average rate of two meters per day.

Around the reservoir area, the rising water level is gradually flooding the area where people are evacuated.

[Concurrent] Zhang Kui, Chief Engineer of Baihetan Electromechanical Project Department, China Energy Construction Gezhouba Electromechanical Company

The beginning of the reservoir storage means that Baihetan Hydropower Station's 1 million kilowatt hydroelectric generating unit has officially entered the countdown stage of power generation.

The current water level of the dam is about (elevation) 717 meters, and it is expected that the water level will reach (elevation) 751 meters by mid-to-early May.

This is an important node, which means that the world's largest hydroelectric generator set by our Gezhouba Electromechanical Company can be officially started and commissioned with water.

After the commissioning is completed, it can formally generate electricity and output a steady stream of electric energy to the outside world.
