China News Service, July 21. According to Weibo from the Propaganda Department of the Zhengzhou Municipal Party Committee, Zhengzhou's Changzhuang Reservoir's flood control situation is extremely severe due to the largest continuous heavy precipitation in history in Zhengzhou and the large amount of upstream water.

At 10:30 on July 20, Changzhuang Reservoir began to discharge its flood downstream.

As of 21:34 on the 20th, the real-time water level of the Changzhuang Reservoir was 130.54 meters, which exceeded the flood limit water level of 3.05 meters, and the highest water level of the day had fallen by 70 cm.

Up to now, the water level of Changzhuang Reservoir has continued to drop, and the dam's danger has been initially controlled.

At 10:30 on the 20th, the Changzhuang Reservoir began to discharge its flood downstream.

Later, inspectors found a piping on the backside of the reservoir.

The staff of the Changzhuang Reservoir Management Office immediately acted in the rain, covering geotextiles, laying filter wells, and capping filter materials, and took effective measures to eliminate dangers and strengthen.

With the continuous increase of precipitation and upstream water, according to the emergency plan, the spillway and water delivery tunnel of the Changzhuang Reservoir were fully opened for flood discharge.

At 20:30 on the 20th, we received a notice from the Provincial Defense Office that the reservoir reduced its flow by 100 cubic meters per second.

The Reservoir Management Office reports real-time information on the danger situation. Experts from Henan Province and Zhengzhou City set up a steering group to strengthen the analysis and calculation of rainfall, inflow, outflow and other data, and intensify the monitoring of various safety parameters of the dam. Efforts will be made to rescue the piping area.

Up to now, the water level of Changzhuang Reservoir has continued to drop, and the dam's danger has been initially controlled.

However, continuous precipitation will also increase the pressure on the dam. The staff of the Changzhuang Reservoir Management Office, rescue team members, armed police officers and soldiers are still paying close attention to changes in the flood conditions and are on standby at any time.
