On July 19, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Water Resources informed that the Yangtze River and Taihu Lake areas of Jiangsu Province maintained flood response level Ⅱ emergency response. Nanjing City maintains the city's flood control level I emergency response. The tide level of the Yangtze River in Nanjing reached the historical extreme value of 10.26 meters on the morning of the 18th, and this extreme value was once again pushed to a historical high of 10.31 meters on the morning of the 19th.

The reporter saw from the Muyanzi Riverside Scenic Belt on the Nanjing section of the Yangtze River that the water level of the Yangtze River was almost level with the large platform of Wumadu Wharf. Flood control sandbags are piled on the side of the pier, and the cruise ship terminal is locked. Rainfall is intermittent, and the river has overflowed and continually washed down the lower hydrophilic walkway. Streets and community flood control points are set along the way, and personnel are on duty.

In the Suzhou and Wuxi sections of Taihu Lake, the Meiyu "intermission", the local greeted a rare sunny day. The surface of Taihu Lake is calm and the water level is high. Some citizens rushed to the lake to "watch the sea" when it was sunny on Sunday. Except for the flooded docks and plank roads on the shore, the daily life of the citizens was not greatly affected.

At the Jiyin Bridge on the Qinhuai River in Nanjing, the water level has risen much more than usual. The sturdy river embankment firmly blocked the wide, turbulent water flow, and all riverside landscape construction projects were suspended. According to Hou Baokun, deputy director of the Engineering Construction Department of Nanjing Jiangning High-tech Zone, Nanjing has initiated Level II and Level I flood control emergency response. The local flood control point has been equipped with sandbags, and all other flood control materials are loaded on standby, and all personnel on duty are on standby 24 hours a day.
