Entering the heroic troops of the War of Resisting U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea丨 "I will survive this battle..." The 89-year-old tank veteran of the War of Resisting U.S. Aid Korea recalls the last battle

Continue to pay attention to the series of reports on "Entering the Heroic Army to Resist US Aid Korea".

On September 1, 1950, the armored force appeared in the People's Liberation Army as an independent unit.

Soon after its establishment, it moved to the battlefield to resist US aggression and aid Korea. It dispatched approximately 1,000 tanks and self-propelled artillery, damaged 74 enemy tanks, 20 artillery, and destroyed 864 fortifications, making a major contribution to the victory of the war.

"Bang Jun, I am Jixian, I have ordered you to intersect the enemy's right wing!"

In the Northwest Gobi in autumn, a combined brigade offensive battle drill is underway. The Red Army equipped with our most advanced 99A tanks, with its assault speed and powerful firepower, unexpectedly circumvented the Blue Army defensive positions on the right side to outflank it.

A certain synthetic brigade serving as an exercise of the Red Army, its predecessor was the first tank unit of our army, and the first armored unit of our army to enter North Korea 70 years ago.

At that time, the People's Armored Corps, which had been formed for only half a year, had just been equipped with T-34 tanks, and had only completed preliminary technical and tactical training.

The development of tank soldiers in North Korea was supposedly forced out. Why?

To defeat the Kuomintang was to seize the Kuomintang's weapons to beat him.

Continuously fighting, continuous improvement, how much the real T-34 tank knows, not many people, just three months of training.

Armed to the teeth, the enemy did not give the Volunteer tank soldiers rushing into battle too much time to learn. In the early days of the DPRK, without the cover of air defense forces, the tank group of the Volunteer Army traversed most of North Korea by night.

We were very difficult at the beginning. We didn’t have air supremacy, and we couldn’t control the situation in the air. The plane would come all day long. The B-29 plane was a big bomber. How to do it?

All marched at night.

Zeng Yan, who graduated from the armor department of North China Military and Political University, led the chariot at the forefront of the team.

The tanks walked in front in a row. I was a row of tanks. I was in front of the company in a row. I was the commander of the first car. I was the first one.

But the enemy was still found. I was found outside the tank. When I found him, I shot the machine gun on the plane, and hit the tank. The sparks came out of the tank, and I didn't know if I died.

Covered positions in ambushes day and night to directly destroy U.S. tanks

In the fight against powerful enemies, the young Chinese tank soldiers did not show the slightest timidity.

Zeng Yan and his comrades in arms created a precedent for Chinese armored forces to cover their positions and were widely used in Volunteer Army tanks.

In terms of combat, tanks are rushing forward and infantrymen are following. However, this is not allowed on the Korean battlefield. How can we use his power, where is the famous ambush in the history of armored warfare for 24 days and nights?

Just staying in the cave for twenty-four days and nights, waiting for the enemy to pass by. I just said that the enemy is going to launch an offensive and he is going to transport troops. Our tanks are lurking there, just waiting for the enemy to go from there. Over.

In this ambush mission, 2 US tanks were directly destroyed and 7 were injured. Foreign media exclaimed that Chinese tanks were put into battle.

Recalling the last battle in North Korea, Zeng Yan is still thrilling.

A row of American guns, wow!

Overwhelmingly came, 12 of us died on the spot, and I was the only one who survived this battle.

One move to kill the enemy across the territory to defend the motherland demonstrates the military responsibility

Seventy years later, the same scene also appeared on today's exercise field. A certain combined brigade of the army, combined with a battalion, was given the task of capturing the pass.

Wang Zhiguo, instructor of the first battalion and company of a synthetic brigade of the 81st Army:

In fact, when everyone looked at the terrain and looked at this task, everyone knew that they were going to die. Then I said a word with the company commander.

He said, in fact, there is no need to do any mobilization, we just need to say a word, if we are to die, then our branch will die first.

Wang Jie, tank commander of the "Hero" tank of a synthetic brigade of the 81st Army:

The enemy should have deployed three tanks to control the bayonet. If you go up from that bayonet, because four or five vehicles have died in front of us.

I said, can we rush to the tank, the driver said that there should be a way to go, and then go around from the slope, gave him a shot, and killed him. I was so excited.

The pleasure of killing the enemy with one move gives the new generation of tank soldiers strength and courage.

The tank, as a ground assault force, once again became a weapon for defeating the enemy in the exercise.

In addition to tanks, the armored composite battalion, which has assembled self-propelled artillery, assault vehicles, armored reconnaissance vehicles, and engineering equipment, has also become the most important combat force after the transformation and development of the army with the upgrading of equipment and the improvement of personnel quality.

70 years later, the first tank unit of our army where Zeng Yan was in has been reorganized into a new type of synthetic brigade, and a large number of advanced armored combat vehicles such as the 99A tank entered the sequence. Our army's armored force truly has the ability to fight in all areas.

Today, the new synthetic battalion command system integrates all types of armored equipment, and the important task of safeguarding the peace of the motherland has been taken by a new generation of Chinese soldiers.
