From the start of the school year in September, 100% vegetarian menus will become "the norm" in Grenoble's canteens.
The novelty: they will be offered every day without exception.
School children will however have the possibility of choosing two other options: a mixed menu which will consist of fish and vegetables and a third which will combine vegetarian and meat or fish.

Meals will be produced by the city, which has chosen to no longer source supplies from outside.
A decision assumed by the municipality which would like to introduce children to “the variety of tastes” and “the pleasures of a vegetable diet”.
Since 2014, Grenoble has reduced the portion of meat in its menus.
For five years, the city has already offered 1.5 vegetarian meals, on average, per week in its school canteens.
