"The European Commission and the United States understand the need to take decisive action to reduce energy imports from Russia," the statement said.

It also states that across Europe “efforts are being made to diversify supplies and reduce dependence on Russian gas.”

As Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, noted earlier, the United States is ready to "bite its teeth" into the European energy market.

As noted in the Russian Foreign Ministry, the United States is trying to occupy part of the European energy market, using the political situation in the region created by the Americans themselves.

Moscow noted that the United States is not even able to partially cover the volume of energy supplies that Russia provides to the EU countries.

The head of the Russian state, Vladimir Putin, also noted that energy supplies from the United States to Europe would inevitably affect the entire global economy, they would cost many times more than from Russia.
