The UAE has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place yesterday in a religious school in the city of Peshawar, in northern Pakistan, which led to the deaths of a number of innocent civilians, including children, and the wounding of others.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed in a statement that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts, and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilizing security and stability, and inconsistent with religious and humanitarian values and principles.
The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences and condolences to the families and relatives of the victims of this heinous crime, and its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured.
Pakistani police and health officials said that at least eight people were killed and about 110 people were wounded in a bomb explosion, which occurred yesterday, in a religious school in the city of Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, near the border from Afghanistan.
Police sources said that "unknown persons put explosives in a plastic bag." The commander of Peshawar police, Muhammad Ali Jindapur, told "Reuters" that the bomb contained up to six kilograms of explosive materials.
Although the number of attacks decreased in the city and in Pakistan in general in the past few years, this year it increased the security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, where Peshawar is located as the capital of the region.
The "Taliban - Pakistan" movement claimed responsibility for some of the attacks, but the armed movement issued a statement yesterday, in which it said that it condemned the bombing of the religious school and denies its involvement in it.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and the injured, through a tweet on the social networking site "Twitter".
"I want to reassure my people that we will make sure that the terrorists responsible for this barbaric attack are brought to justice as soon as possible," he said.
