The UAE quartet announces participation in the World Swimming Championships
The UAE Swimming Federation has announced the joining of a new group of swimmers representing the UAE national team in the World Swimming Championships, which will be held from 16-21 December 2021 at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
The new list includes: Salem Ghaleb, Sarah Okasha, Ahmed Al Marzouki, Muhammad Al Hammadi, bringing the number of swimmers representing the UAE to 6 athletes, after announcing earlier the participation of Laila Al Khatib and Youssef Al Matrooshi.
The 16-year-old swimmer, Salem Ghaleb, won the gold medal in the 100-meter butterfly race at the Arab Swimming Championships, which was held at the Sports Center in Mohammed bin Zayed City, recently, by achieving a time of 57.78 seconds, and he hopes during the coming period to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics. And to achieve a distinguished performance in the World Swimming Championships after his success in achieving 3 gold medals in the Gulf Aquatics Championships.
16-year-old Sarah Okasha, the gold medalist in the 200-meter freestyle at the Arab Swimming Championships, aspires to record a prominent participation in the World Swimming Championships and increase her medal count and achievements.
The UAE national team is also represented by Ahmed Al Marzouki (15 years old), who is considered one of the prominent and promising stars in the world of swimming.
