The first national football team jumped to the 68th place globally and seventh in Asia according to the classification of the International Football Association (FIFA) for the world teams during the month of August, noting that Al-Abyad is currently preparing to play its matches in the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, as He will play in Group A, which includes South Korea, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, and will start his campaign against Lebanon on the second of next September at Zabeel Stadium in Al-Wasl Club in Dubai.

The team, which had qualified for the final round after topping its previous group with 18 points, is going to an external camp in Serbia led by Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk, as the current team list included 24 players, while injuries caused the absence of key elements, including Fabio de Lima, Khalfan Mubarak and Ali healthy.

The team is expected to enter another training camp, starting from the 26th of this month, as part of the second phase of the preparation plan for the upcoming matches of Lebanon and Syria at the start of the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
