The UAE national cycling team begins its journey in the Salalah Tour of Oman today

Today, the UAE national cycling team begins its participation in the Salalah Tour, which will continue until September 17, with a distinguished participation that includes a number of national teams and teams, along with the UAE national team, which is competing in the competitions with the aim of refining the capabilities of its riders and qualifying them for the upcoming official international participations.

The team begins its journey with the preliminary race, which will be held for a distance of 6 km, followed by the second day’s race that will be held for a distance of 106 km, then the third day’s race for a distance of 101 km, and it will conclude on the 17th of this month with the final race that will be held for a distance of 109 km.

The Secretary-General of the Cycling Federation, Yasser Al-Doukhi, confirmed to "Emirates Today" that the team is participating in the event with a team of 7 highly qualified and distinguished cyclists: Saif Al-Kaabi, Jaber Al-Mansoori, Ahmed Al-Mansoori, Muhammad Al-Mansoori, Saeed Sweidan, Muhammad Al-Sabbagh, and Khaled Mayouf, accompanied by a technical and administrative staff, including Hamad Al Tunaiji, administrative director, Abdullah Sweidan, technical director, and Jamal Zerwati, bicycle technician.

Al-Doukhi stressed that the UAE Cycling Federation’s teams committee, headed by Mansour Buassiba, the president of the federation, relies a lot on the participation of the national team in the Salalah Tour, as it is considered a good experience and friction for the team’s members and measuring the size of their capabilities and preparations before entering the next phase and the official international participation it includes.
