The UAE condemns the Houthis' targeting of civilian installations in Marib with ballistic missiles

The UAE has strongly condemned the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia's targeting of civilian facilities in the Yemeni city of Marib with ballistic missiles, which resulted in the injury of many civilians.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed its strong condemnation of these practices carried out by the militias by launching missiles and drones towards Yemeni cities, especially on Marib, which hosts more than two million displaced persons and civilians fleeing from militia-controlled areas, and the consequent aggravation of the situation. The humanitarian community in Yemen, as well as the Houthis ’continued rejection of the efforts of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and a proposal on a permanent ceasefire in Yemen, to resume the humanitarian and economic measures and start the political process to reach a political solution within the framework of the three references, with the aim of prolonging the crisis And the complication of the UN efforts and the international community to end the Yemeni crisis.

The statement indicated that the continuation of these attacks and threats illustrates the nature of the danger facing the region from the Houthi coup, and considered it a new evidence of these militias' efforts to undermine security and stability in the region.

She again appreciated the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to implement the Riyadh Agreement in Yemen, and expressed her hope that its implementation would be accelerated and push for the paths to end the Yemeni crisis, especially the peace track sponsored by the United Nations and its envoy to Yemen.

It renewed its commitment to stand by the Yemeni people and support their legitimate aspirations for development, security and peace within the framework of its policy of support for everything that achieves the interest of the peoples of the region.
