Eisfeld (dpa / th) - On Saturday night, a truck slid down an embankment on Autobahn 73 and came to a stop 30 meters lower.
As a spokesman for the police announced, the truck broke through the guardrail at the level of the Eisfeld-Nord motorway exit (Hildburghausen district) in the direction of Suhl for an unknown reason.
The vehicle first drove on the shoulder, then overturned in a ditch and rolled down the embankment.
The driver was in the driver's cab until it came to a standstill.
He escaped from the cabin and was admitted to the hospital, seriously injured.
As the cause of the accident, health causes cannot initially be ruled out, said the police spokesman.
