The Sierra de Gata, in the extreme northwest of the province of Cáceres, is one of the treasures of Extremadura and, at this time, one of the most sought-after destinations.

Rivers, streams, reservoirs, gorges and natural pools make this community the first in kilometers of sweet coast in Spain.
With the heat, thousands of tourists (and locals) visit the numerous natural pools with fresh water that flood the area;
there is no town, of the many that dot the valleys and slopes of the mountains of the Sierra, in which there is not some charming place to take a dip.
Places that, on many occasions, have nothing to envy to any Mediterranean beach, since water sports can be practiced there and they also have services and beach bars that open during the summer season.

Natural pools of Holly.
In a privileged place in the middle of nature are these pools (two) with crystal clear and icy waters surrounded by abundant vegetation, a large space with grass and a restaurant with pleasant terraces, which are also called Jevero.
They are close to waterfalls and hiking trails and just two kilometers from the town of Acebo in the Sierra de Gata.

Robledillo de Gata.
This charming Extremaduran town also has natural waters (very cold) to take a dip.
There are two natural pools, surrounded by green areas with picnic areas and both with stairs or ramps to get in and out of the water.
There is no beach bar.
El Chafaril natural pool

In the municipality of San Martín de Trevejo, this natural pool is small, but with a depth of two meters.
Surrounded by chestnut trees, it is located on the course of the refreshing waters of the Arrevises River, in Extremadura's Hurdes, and has about 200 meters of beach.
It has a children's area, toilets and parking.
Los Molinos Natural Pool

On the outskirts of the town of Torre de Miguel, this pool of fresh and crystal clear waters is located in a natural environment where you can enjoy the best sunsets.
It is surrounded by grass to lie down and, next to it, there is a beach bar.

El Petril natural pool.
Another good place to cool off in the Sierra de Gata is this spot in the Cáceres municipality of Valverde del Fresno, located on the course of the Sabugal River.
In the middle of a dense forest, it has services, a children's area, parking, a lawn and a restaurant.
The Alameda.
This natural pool is located in the town of Moraleja next to the Gata riverbank.
Surrounded by nature, it has a beach bar and parking nearby.
It is quite large and elongated and next to it is the Parque Fluvial Feliciano Vegas, where you can spend the day lying on the grass in the shade of the trees or practicing water sports.

In the course of the Arrago river, which bathes the town of Descargarmaría, this pleasant site is located with parking and a summer beach bar, swings and a children's area.
The land that surrounds the pool is presented in terraces and terraces whose walls are covered with colorful glazed ceramic panels.
Located among abundant trees, the pool is 50 m long and a maximum depth of three meters, and well laid out with grass and sand.
