After the incident, ZTO Express apologized publicly, saying that the live animals were sold online by e-commerce customers. The above-mentioned outlets illegally collected collections and announced three rectification measures.
On May 8, the official website of the local Postal Administration issued an administrative penalty announcement. Sichuan Jiahui Logistics Co., Ltd. was fined 30,000 yuan for illegally receiving and sending items whose safety could not be determined.
