The second stage of the Tour cycliste du Luxembourg was interrupted Wednesday after 18 km after a change of mood of riders who dismounted to denounce the security conditions.

On Twitter, the organizers announced at midday that the peloton would move in "neutralized procession" to the final circuit of Syren, south-east of the capital, where "a new start will be given".

"The race stopped. The riders decided to neutralize the next 100 kms due to a lack of safety on the road," wrote the Vini Zabu / KTM team on the same social network.

The riders complain about the safety conditions on a route which is only cut off from traffic for a very short time when the peloton passes.

The Italian Jacopo Guarnieri (Groupama / FDJ) denounced Tuesday, day of the first stage, the presence of a bus parked on the course 4.5 kilometers from the finish, while the riders were advancing "at 70km / h ".

The second stage of the Skoda Tour was to link Remich to Hesperange, over 164 km.

The organization of the race is chaired by the former star of Luxembourg cycling Andy Schleck.
