He obviously landed in the middle of the night, at his father's home, in Ploeren, near Vannes (Morbihan).

Returning from a party and under the influence of alcohol, a 17-year-old teenager is suspected of having fatally stabbed his father on the night of Saturday to Sunday.

It was the respondent who called the gendarmes around 11:30 p.m. to alert them that he had just killed his father.

According to the public prosecutor of Vannes, the young man would have filmed the scene of the crime and would have broadcast it on social networks, sending it to around forty recipients.

The drama took place in the family home.

For several weeks, the father had lived there alone.

His wife and two children had left the scene after a complaint for domestic violence.

It is the repeated beatings of the father which would have pushed the young man to act in this way.

"In the state of his statements, the minor explained that he wanted to put an end to the aggressive and violent behavior of his father against the background of alcoholic problems and the suffering that this behavior caused for his family," said prosecutor François Touron.

The latter specifies that a criminal investigation had been opened on May 12, 2021 by the gendarmerie following the complaint of the victim's wife.

He would have woken up his father to kill him

The evening of the tragedy, the gendarmes discovered the lifeless body of the victim "who presented multiple wounds by sharp weapon". The alleged perpetrator, "in a significant state of alcoholism," admitted to having intentionally killed his father. He reportedly came home alone, took two knives in the kitchen and woke his father before fatally injuring him. "The autopsy confirmed that the victim had died as a result of a massive hemorrhage following multiple wounds by sharp weapon", explains the prosecution.

Saturday evening, the technical services of the gendarmerie also had to manage the withdrawal of the video posted on social networks by the respondent.

According to investigators, the teenager would have broadcast a video of the crime scene "as soon as the facts committed".

Forty recipients would have received it.

A psychological support unit was set up on Sunday for the recipients of this video and their parents.

The Vannes prosecutor's office relinquished jurisdiction today in favor of the criminal department of the Lorient prosecutor's office, with a view to opening a judicial investigation for murder on the ascendant.
