The Supreme Organizing Committee of the Club World Cup holds its first meeting and approves the organizational structure
The Supreme Organizing Committee for the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup held its first meeting today at the headquarters of the Dubai Football Association, headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the Emirates Football Association and Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of Aref Hamad Al Awani, Vice Chairman of the Committee, Managing Director, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Mohammed Abdullah Hazam Al Dhaheri. The Secretary-General of the Football Association, Talal Al Hashemi, Suhail Al Arifi, and Ahmed Al Qubaisi are members of the committee, in addition to members of the work team from the Football Association and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The committee reviewed the decision on the formation and organizational structure, and after approval, it was approved to name Muhammad Abdullah Hazam Al Dhaheri as an official spokesperson for the tournament, and to recommend that a proposal for the operational plan be submitted in detail at the next meeting.
The committee also identified the main and sub-committees, which consist of the organizing teams for the championship, and decided to name Brigadier Rashid Suhail as Chairman of the Security Committee, Yaqoub Al Saadi as Chairman of the Media Committee, and Dr. Mustafa Al Hashemi as Chairman of the Medical Committee. It was presented at the next meeting in preparation for its adoption.
It is noteworthy that the proposed date for the tournament is February 2022, to be confirmed at the ceremony of the draw ceremony, which will take place on November 29.
The tournament will be held with the participation of clubs from (Al Jazira Club of the United Arab Emirates, Chelsea of England, Monterrey of Mexico (winner of Palmeiras and Flamengo), (winner of Saudi Al Hilal and Pohang of Korea), Al Ahly of Egypt, and Auckland City of Australia).
