The State Duma adopted a law on the creation of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund

It is reported by RIA Novosti. 

The document provides for the creation of an appropriate fund by transforming the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR) and joining it with the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation (FSS).

The Cabinet believes that combining the functions of the two funds will speed up the provision of social services and make this process convenient for citizens, including through the creation of unified customer service offices.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that a single mandatory pension and social insurance fund will appear next year.

Later, the Russian government submitted to the State Duma a bill to merge the Pension Fund and the Social Insurance Fund.
