China News Service, May 8th. According to the website of the Chinese Embassy in India, on May 8, the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India, Counselor Wang Xiaojian issued a solemn statement on the recent wrongdoings of the Indian media on Taiwan-related issues, refuting the wrong argument. And reiterated China's principled position.

Wang Xiaojian said that in recent days, individual Indian media published an article by Chen Shizhong, the head of the health and welfare department of the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party authorities, blaming his "Taiwan independence" remarks and advocating the so-called "Taiwan's accession to the World Health Organization."

China expresses its strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this.

The Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party authorities stubbornly adhere to the "Taiwan independence" proposition and challenge the one-China principle.

Recently, they have attempted to use the "sharing of the anti-epidemic model" to engage in political manipulation and continue to hype Taiwan's so-called "participation in the World Health Assembly" issue on international occasions.

Its real purpose is to take the foreigners' self-respect, seek "independence" with the epidemic, expand the so-called "international space" of Taiwan, and achieve its political goal of "dividing China".

This kind of conspiracy will never succeed.

Wang Xiaojian emphasized that as we all know, there is only one China in the world, the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory.

The one-China principle is the universal consensus of the international community and the basic norm of international relations.

All countries that have established diplomatic relations with China should firmly fulfill their commitment to uphold the one-China principle. This is also the official position of the Indian government.

On the issue of China’s Taiwan region’s participation in the activities of international organizations, including the World Health Organization composed of sovereign states, China’s position is consistent and clear, that is, it must be handled in accordance with the one-China principle.

This is an important principle confirmed by UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 and WHO Resolution 25.1.

Wang Xiaojian pointed out that the Chinese central government attaches great importance to the health and well-being of Taiwan compatriots.

Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, we have repeatedly and timely notified the Taiwan region of the latest news of the epidemic prevention and control, and made proper arrangements for Taiwan's participation in global health affairs.

There is a contact point for the International Health Regulations in Taiwan, and the exchange of information with the World Health Organization and other countries is unimpeded and the mechanism is complete.

Wang Xiaojian said that the Taiwan issue concerns China's core interests and is an untouchable red line.

We firmly oppose any separatist actions that create the so-called "Taiwan independence", "two Chinas" or "one China, one Taiwan".

We urge the relevant Indian media to take a correct stand on issues involving China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and other major core interests, abide by the one-China principle, refrain from providing a platform for “Taiwan independence” forces to speak out, and refrain from sending wrong signals.
