The forest fire that occurred in Yanggu, Gangwon-do has continued for the second day.
Since morning, a large number of helicopters and manpower have been put in to extinguish the fire, and the forestry authorities believe that the main fire will be extinguished within today (11th).

Forest authorities resumed extensive firefighting work as soon as dawn.
Helicopter firefighting work, which mobilized 30 firefighting helicopters such as forestry and firefighting, was temporarily suspended in the morning due to heavy haze, but resumed around noon.
The fire-fighting work is accelerating because Lake Paro, a water intake source that can float water, is 3 to 4 km away from the fire site.
On the ground, about 1,600 personnel, including special firefighters, are deployed to extinguish the flames by dividing the site into four zones.
At the site, the wind is blowing relatively weakly at 5-6 m/s.
It was understood that the caustics, that is, the band of fire, which were spread out as wide as 16 km last night, have now been reduced to 5.8 km.
At current rates, forest officials expect the main fire to be extinguished by the time the sun goes down today.

Forest authorities estimated that as of 1:30 p.m. today, about 235ha of forest had been lost.
Fortunately, there were no casualties or property damage.
37 helicopters and more than 600 firefighters were deployed to extinguish the wildfire.
