“The police detained several people, including the aforementioned journalists.

At the moment, these media representatives are at the police station until all the circumstances of the case are clarified, ”the diplomatic department said. 

The Foreign Ministry added that, according to available information, the correspondents of the American TV channel were among other people on the road leading to the correctional facility.

“At the request of representatives of law enforcement agencies to get out of the way, as they hinder the work of a special institution and the passage of vehicles (and failure to comply with such requirements threatens to be prosecuted), the journalists refused.

They also did not show their accreditation cards, ”the department added.

Earlier, the police detained several people at the colony in the Vladimir region, where Alexei Navalny is located.

Among the detainees were CNN journalists.
