The prize for the prevention of bullying in schools opens the door for candidacy for the second round

The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi, and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), announced the opening of registration for the "Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood Award for the Prevention of Bullying in Schools", under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak President of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.

The award aims to enhance efforts to provide a safe school environment for children, to motivate the school community to give and to give, create fair competition and love of distinction, and to highlight the owners of distinguished creative initiatives and ideas.

The Council opened the door for registration on the electronic link bpa.scmc.gov.ae, and the deadline for participation in the award will be September 30th.

The award categories include public and private schools, principals, teachers, technicians, nurses, students, social workers, academic counselors, professionals, and students' families.

Among the requirements for nomination for the award is that schools, whether governmental or private, or teachers and technicians, have participation in distinguished initiatives to reduce bullying, and with regard to students ’nomination, they should explain their participation in designing and implementing initiatives or activities of their own that have achieved success in curbing bullying. As well as the students' families through their participation in bullying prevention programs, whether with support or distinct and positive participation.

In the event of candidacy, all groups are required to participate in the initiatives and projects that took place during 2019 and 2020.

Candidates will be evaluated during the month of next October through evaluation interviews, and the evidence supporting the standards and efforts made, and the council will announce the results and honor the winners in an official ceremony on November 20, which coincides with International Children's Day.

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and with the participation of 20 local and federal entities, launched the National Week for the Prevention of Bullying in Schools, with the aim of raising awareness about bullying prevention in schools in all emirates of the country.
