Today, Saturday, the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority warned against the entry of Palestinian prisoners in all Israeli prisons on an open hunger strike, in protest against the arbitrary policies of the occupation’s prison administration.
The commission said that "the Israeli occupation prisons administration pushed this morning with huge reinforcements from repression units to all sections."
The Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) quoted the media official in the commission, Thaer Shreiteh, as saying, "The prisoners continue their struggle against the arbitrary policies of the occupation against them, as they seek to cancel all the penalties imposed on them, such as withdrawing electrical tools, imposing fines, isolating cells, and reducing Food supplies, in addition to stopping the attacks on them, and the incursions and searches, which increased in frequency after the six prisoners seized their freedom in Gilboa Prison months ago.
Shreiteh warned against "summoning forces from the army and repression units near the police stations and in the vicinity of the prisons," considering it an indication of a dangerous and alarming attack on the prisoners, and that the administration intended to carry out incursions and repressions.
He said that "the prisoners may resort to escalation through an open hunger strike, in conjunction with the administrative prisoners' boycott of the occupation courts for the 44th consecutive day."
Yesterday, Friday, the Israeli Prison Administration sent huge reinforcements from the suppression units, for fear of the prisoners' revolt after Friday prayers.
The prisoners decided to close the sections and refrain from going out for daily checks and the yards, as part of their struggle against the policies of the Israeli Prisons Administration.
