The Pride March will not take place, as planned, on June 25 and 26, in Montpellier (Hérault), deplores the Fierté Montpellier Pride association, which is organizing the event.

"The pandemic period (...) means that large-scale gatherings are largely compromised," notes the association.

We believe (…) that it is not possible to envisage a major event in view of the sanitary conditions.

In 2020, the march did not take place

Thanks to a "more effective vaccination campaign" and a "general improvement in the situation during the summer", the march, which was to honor the rights of LGBTQI + people, is postponed to September 24 and 25.

In 2020, the event, which brings together thousands of people in the streets of the Hérault capital, could not take place.

The prefecture had indicated, a few days before it was held in September, its decision not to authorize the march, which brings together thousands of people each year in the streets of the Hérault capital.
