The president of Al-Nujoom Club, “one of the second division clubs in Egypt”, Mohamed Al-Tawila, revealed that he is in the process of filing a lawsuit in the International Sports Court (Al-Kas) to demand the International Football Association (FIFA) to pay one billion Egyptian pounds in compensation for the damages caused to Egyptian football, as a result of FIFA's insistence on appointing committees running business since 2019.
Al-Taweelah said in televised statements on “Al-Nahar” channel that he had already started to follow the first steps in force in FIFA’s litigation systems, as he sent him a memorandum containing 36 items to respond to them regarding the reasons for sticking to the appointment of temporary committees to manage the Egyptian football, and not to comply with the demands of permanent clubs. By holding elections to choose a board of directors for the Football Association to manage the affairs of the game.”
He added: "After FIFA's response to this memorandum arrives, a lawsuit will be filed against the International Football Association, demanding it to pay one billion pounds for the damage caused by its decisions against Egyptian football. The FIFA appointed a committee headed by Amr Al-Janaini to manage the ball." After the resignation submitted by the board of directors following the exit from the second round of the African Nations Cup, which was held in Egypt in January of 2019. FIFA returned and appointed another committee headed by Ahmed Mujahid that will continue its mission until January of next year.
