Bendor Island and Embiez Island, properties of the company Paul Ricard - named after the founder of the famous brand of Pastis - welcome tourists all summer long to "discover places without red lights or permanent advertising screens "explains on Europe 1 Frédéric Vincent, president of their Exploitation Company.

The holidays promise to be local for many French people, deprived of distant destinations due to the epidemic of coronavirus. In the Var, some will take the path to the Paul Ricard islands, property of the group of the founder of the famous brand of pastis. "These are private islands, but open to the public. Their vocation is tourism: to welcome everyone, for a stay or for the day", explains Monday on Europe 1 Frédéric Vincent, president of the Exploitation Company of these islands .

A very varied tourist offer

"After these three difficult months of confinement, the goal is to discover that there are two exceptional places that exist on the doorstep of your home, in France, a few minutes by boat from the coast," explains the manager, before highlighting the characteristics of the two islands. "There is Bendor Island, barely seven hectares, with an artistic vocation", but also that of Embiez, "of 95 hectares, very natural, very little built". "We want to showcase these places without red lights or permanent advertising screens."

The Exploitation Company of these islands intends to address "all customer profiles": "We welcome everyone, from 7 to 100 euros in catering and 50 to 200 euros in accommodation", assures Frédéric Vincent, who specifies that the islands are equipped with a nautical base, this year renting electric paddles. Christophe Pacheco, best worker in France and executive chef of the islands, also offers recipes in jars, to bring back a little souvenir of the Mediterranean from his holidays.
