Not far from the Kremlin, in the classic President Hotel, a meeting on Afghanistan in the Moscow format took place.

All of Afghanistan's neighbors and leading representatives of the Afghan government were there.

Of those involved, there was only the United States, which decided not to come.

This is, of course, a pity, because the US has a hand on the Afghan treasury.

Until the US gives the go-ahead, Afghans won't get their own money.

This is what the Yankees have been doing for a long time - they are trying to strangle disobedient countries. And they do not keep their own money, but other people's. As a result, Afghans are forced to live in poverty as before. Although you cannot give your own Afghan money without American consent, it is possible to provide some assistance. Russia is a leading partner in the Moscow format. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov promised to provide significant humanitarian aid. The first echelon should arrive one of these days.

The conference participants discussed ways to help.

If at first they demanded tougher demands to the Taliban *, then softening began over time.

They realized that Afghanistan cannot become a model country in the region not today tomorrow.

If over the past twenty years the Americans, with their unlimited resources, have failed to build an inclusive government, there is no reason to think that the Taliban will do it now.

Overall, there is progress, but not as much as expected.

The new Afghan government needs recognition.

They have shown their power - now they can show their capabilities.

There is no doubt that the Taliban are actually ruling, and they need to get formal recognition as well.

Valentina Matvienko said that Russia will recognize them if the government is considered sufficiently inclusive.

By and large, everything depends on the US refusal.

Yes, and Russia wants to get the consent of China.

If it succeeds, consent will lead to recognition.

A spokesman for the Afghan delegation, Acting Foreign Minister in the Taliban government, Amir Khan Muttaki, said the Taliban had met all the conditions for the international community to recognize him as the legitimate authority of Afghanistan.

“Why shouldn't they recognize us officially?

We control the entire territory of Afghanistan, and we have fulfilled all conditions and meet all standards as a government, ”said Amir Khan Muttaki.

“This is the first time in 45 years that Afghanistan is protected from threats.

And we are committed to ensuring that the territory of Afghanistan is not used to threaten the security of other countries, ”he added.

"All countries participating in the conference supported the unfreezing of the assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, which, in fact, are the property of the Afghan people," Muttaki said at the final press conference.

So we need to help the Afghans so that they can build a new life.

In my opinion, the Taliban urgently need help!

It is good that Russia is conducting this process.
