The Federal Customs Authority has officially launched the Emirates Customs Portal as a unified electronic window that includes all the systems applied by the authority.

The authority stated in a statement yesterday that the portal aims to activate communication with partners and users, and to enable them to complete operations and tasks as quickly as possible with the feature of unified access, with a quality that is consistent with international best practices.

Customs Commissioner and Chairman of the Authority, Ali Saeed Matar Al Niyadi, said, “The launch of the Emirates Customs Portal reflects the Authority’s keenness to implement the requirements of digital electronic transformation, the capabilities of the smart government of the UAE, and the principles of the UAE Vision 2021, in addition to empowering users of the systems from government agencies and local customs departments from Conducting their transactions easily and as quickly as possible, through a single window that includes all systems.

He added, "The number of current users of the portal from the authority, government agencies and local customs departments is about 652 users, while their number is expected to double in the coming years with the launch of the new systems. The portal has also been linked electronically with 25 government agencies in the country."

Al-Niyadi pointed out that the Emirates customs portal represents an important step in the framework of the authority and the customs sector in the country for the next 50 years, indicating that the portal is a unified window characterized by the ability to accommodate future systems, and it provides the ability to follow and monitor the operation of the authority’s various systems easily, and it also contains a central base For third-party users.

He stated that work at the portal began in early 2020, by merging the customs regulations applied in the portal in three stages, explaining that “the portal currently includes six systems: electronic statistics, electronic clearing, direct automatic transfer of customs duties between GCC countries, customs circulars, Disclosure of monetary amounts, and statistical linkage ».

Al-Niyadi added that “the authority has prepared a future plan to develop the portal, which includes employing modern technologies to raise the efficiency of systems and continuously develop their performance, and to implement the feature of the smart reporting platform (Dash Board), which is characterized by analyzing, analyzing and extracting systems that contain large-sized data, analyzing and extracting them in the form of dynamic graphics. And the issuance of reports directly and according to the requirements, as well as the possibility of using them in managing customs risks. It is decided that new systems will be added to the portal soon, including the electronic transmission system and the smart inspection system.
