The "Opinions" clarified that the main tasks and major measures to further reduce the burden of students' homework and off-campus training during the compulsory education stage (hereinafter referred to as "double reduction") are as follows: First, comprehensively reduce the total amount and duration of homework, and reduce the burden of excessive homework on students . The "Opinions" emphasized that while comprehensively carrying out governance work, nine regions including Beijing have been designated as national pilot areas, and pilot explorations should be made in resolutely reducing subject-based off-campus training, rational use of internal and external resources, and strengthening training fee supervision.
The "Opinions" require that local party committees and governments must carefully organize and implement them in order to achieve practical results.
