Apple CFO Luca Maestri confirmed on Thursday that the release of new iPhone models, initially slated for September, has been postponed. Many specialists had been counting on such a delay for some time. The supply and logistics problems generated by the health crisis linked to the coronavirus have indeed disrupted the production of the devices.

“Last year, we started marketing iPhones at the end of September. This year, we expect the stock to be available a few weeks later, ”said the leader during a conference call with investors, relayed by The Verge .

Still unknown versions

Luca Maestri did not specify if the entire stock will go on sale at a later date or if a limited quantity of the long-awaited smartphones will be marketed before the others. It's also possible that Apple may choose to unveil its new iPhones to the public in September, as the brand does every year, even though the phones aren't going to be sold until later.

The versions of the iPhone 12 are not yet officially known. BFM TV indicates however that rumors mention four different models having in common to be compatible with the 5G network. In addition to modernized versions of the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max, a more compact terminal with a 5.4-inch screen could complete the future range.
