Indestructible Nanasse Bescond!

After two years without a podium, the Frenchwoman returned to the box in Ostersund, where she finished 2nd in the pursuit on Saturday behind the Norwegian Roiseland.

The oldest of the French biathlon team made a perfect shot (20/20) and beat another Anaïs, Chevalier-Bouchet (19/20), who signed her second podium of the season and confirmed her great form.

“This podium means a lot, two years without a podium is an eternity for an athlete,” said Bescond, three-time Olympic medalist.

I am very satisfied, there were a lot of good things today.

I never gave up and I trained with a lot of rigor and heart to the work this year.

"Things are going pretty well for me right now," Chevalier-Bouchet reacted.

Physically, I'm not at my peak yet, I'm still missing some on the last laps but today I went on the attack, I wanted to play and win.

I put in a little bit in the first laps and maybe I lost some energy in the last laps.

The goal for me is to put the balls in because if I put the balls in, I know that I can play podiums.

Promising on the eve of the relay

The good results of this start of the season (2 podiums in 4 races), however, have not changed the approach of the Frenchwoman, who is not yet thinking of the general classification but remains focused on the Beijing Olympic Games (4-20 February).

“When I came back from maternity (last year, editor's note), my goal was the Games.

But to be able to play in front of the Olympics, you have to do it at the start of the season.

So far, I'm happy with what I'm doing.

I am in the nails and I expected nothing less from myself ”.

This tricolor double on the podium is also timely for the Blue, on the eve of the relay.
