The most expensive French fries in the world enter Guinness

A New York City restaurant is serving up a plate of fries for $200, making them the most expensive French fries in the world, according to The Independent.

Serendipity 3, a restaurant in the city's Midtown East neighborhood, set a new Guinness World Record for its Creme de la Creme fries.

French fries are made in copious amounts of truffle butter and edible gold, and are served on a crystal plate

This is not the first world record set by the restaurant, which also houses the most expensive burger, which sells for $295 (£213) and the most expensive ice cream (£721) for $1,000.

The French fries, which were entered into the Guinness Book of Records on July 12, began as Chipperbeaks;

A variety of white potatoes grown in the United States that have been called "the world's greatest potatoes for frying".

While the potatoes are being prepared and fried, another chef in the kitchen prepares a cheese sauce to accompany the dish.

This is done by melting a lot of truffle butter in a pan, and adding flour, cream, and cubes of Swiss raclette.
