This is reported by TASS with reference to these departments.

“Despite the reduction in the intensity of verification activities, information on administrative practices received from the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia indicates an increase in their effectiveness in terms of identifying illegal migrants and persons illegally engaged in labor activities on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the source said.

It is clarified that over the specified period of time, 55.7 thousand administrative protocols were drawn up against foreign citizens for violations of the rules of entry or the regime of stay (residence) in Russia.

This is 114.2% more than a year earlier - 26 thousand people.

The number of revealed facts of illegal labor activity and non-compliance with established restrictions on the implementation of certain types of activities among foreign citizens also increased by almost 22% and 88%.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that the Russian side should have all the data, including biometric data, about migrants arriving in the country.

He also called for more careful monitoring of the influx of migrants into the country.
