The department reported that a new Russian drug for systemic anti-inflammatory therapy - Levilimab - was included in the treatment regimen.

“Significant changes have been made to the section on etiotropic treatment.

The drugs lopinavir and ritonavir were excluded from the recommendations as they did not show sufficient effectiveness in the treatment of COVID-19, ”the ministry said.

The report said that hydroxychloroquine remained in treatment regimens for patients with mild to moderate forms of the disease. 

The Ministry of Health said that "in connection with the registration of the Gam-Covid-Vac vaccine against the coronavirus, developed by the Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of Gamaleya of the Ministry of Health of Russia, a new section has been introduced - specific prevention."

The department explained that this section describes the indications and contraindications for the use of the vaccine, as well as a list of priority groups for priority vaccination.

The new version of the recommendations expanded the rehabilitation schemes at the early stages of the disease.

"The new version of the guidelines has been posted on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Health and sent to the regions for use in practical work," the message says.
