Electricity production in 2020 is estimated at 1,091.8 billion kWh (-4.2% ), electricity consumption - 1,077.7 billion kWh (-3.6%), ”the document says.

At the same time, in 2021, electricity production is forecast to grow by 3.7% in annual terms, in 2022 - by 1.4%, and in 2023 - by 1.6%.

By 2023, the electricity consumption of the domestic market is also expected to increase by 3.1% compared to 2019, to 1,152.6 billion kWh.

“In the medium term, the volume of electricity production will continue to be determined by the growth rates of the Russian economy,” the forecast says.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Energy Alexander Novak said that electricity consumption is expected to grow by 1.6% in Russia during the heating season.
