"At the moment, the ministry is developing a number of measures aimed at preventing further growth in prices for buckwheat," RIA Novosti quoted the ministry as saying.

The ministry also said that in 2021 it is planned to expand the acreage for the main cereal crops.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia assessed the situation with rice prices.

It is noted that the current volumes of rice production allow satisfying the demand of processing enterprises and fully meeting the needs of the population.

The ministry believes that this will help maintain a stable situation and prevent sharp fluctuations in prices for final products.
