In 2018, Meizhou accelerated the construction of a new round of domestic garbage and sewage treatment infrastructure. The Tunnel Center of China Construction Railway Investment Rail Transit Company undertook the construction of the second sewage purification plant of Jiangnan No. 2 in Meizhou City and the black and smelly water treatment project of the Huangtang River and Zhouxi River. (I.e. Meizhou Water Project).

The project was included in one of the ten livelihood facts of Meizhou City in 2019, and it is also a key project in Guangdong Province.

During the construction of the project, the Meizhou Water Affairs Project Department of the Tunnel Center of China Construction Railway Investment Rail Transit Company designed the sewage treatment process as an improved SBR (Sequence Batch Activated Sludge Process) in accordance with the design, the first-stage process upgrade and transformation and the second-stage expansion and upgrade project. The process and service scope covers Meizhou’s Qinyang Peninsula, Jiangnan New Town, Changsha Town and Jiangnan New Town Dongsheng Area. The total service area is 33.99 square kilometers, and a new deodorization system is added to centrally treat and discharge waste gas.

According to reports, the sewage treatment of this project has to go through multiple processes such as underground coarse and fine grids and grit tank flushing and separation, activated sludge biological action, solid-liquid separation in the secondary sedimentation tank, and contact disinfection tank sterilization, etc., before the water quality can reach discharge. standard.

Planting a large number of deodorizing and adsorbing vegetation on the ground effectively solves the problem of "last mile" of odor pollution.

Nowadays, coming to the water purification plant, the villagers are very surprised by the garden-like architectural landscape on site: no sewage can be seen in the garden.

With small bridges and flowing water, red and willow green, the whole plant area is a vivid and watery garden scenery.

"The sewage pipe network is buried underground, and there are sewage collection tanks. Most of the sewage treatment process is carried out underground. There is no smell and no sewage can be seen." Meizhou Water Project Manager Jin Zhiteng said.

After the project was officially put into operation, the sewage treatment capacity of Meizhou City was increased from 100,000 tons/day to 150,000 tons/day, and the effluent water quality was upgraded from Grade B standard to Grade A standard, which greatly improved Meizhou’s energy conservation, emission reduction, quality and efficiency Improve the quality of urban human settlements.
