On May 15th, the Information Office of the Suzhou Municipal People’s Government informed that at around 19:00 on the 14th, parts of Shengze Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou City were suddenly hit by a tornado. The preliminary study judged it to be an EF3 tornado with a maximum wind force of 17 in the center.
The tornado caused casualties and damaged local power facilities and many houses.
According to the report, as of 5 am on the 15th, the investigation and rescue was over.
According to statistics, the disaster caused a total of 4 deaths (1 died on the spot, 2 died in critical condition after treatment failed, and 1 was found missing and died after being sent to the hospital for treatment ineffective), 19 people were slightly injured (observed and treated in the hospital, none of them were alive) Danger), 130 people were slightly injured (returned to their homes after treatment by the hospital); 84 households were damaged, with a damaged area of 1,500 square meters; 17 enterprises were damaged, with a damaged area of 13,000 square meters.
No disasters occurred in other parts of Suzhou.
