It is no longer compulsory to wear a mask outside, in the Gard.

Except in places where the population density is high, and where social distancing is not possible, such as in queues, markets or bus shelters.

While the mask was compulsory in the streets of the department in all circumstances (except on the beaches and in the forests), the prefecture relaxed the measures because of the "positive development" of the epidemic situation.

This measure has already been in place for a week in the neighboring department, Hérault.

In the Gard, the incidence rate of Covid-19 was 83 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the last seven days, Thursday.

The average incidence in France is 69.
