In his speech, Qi Jialin, chairman of the United Alliance Party, proposed that we must resolutely oppose the historical concept of "Taiwan independence", shape the common historical memory of both sides of the strait, promote the spiritual harmony between the two sides, and realize the reunification of the motherland at an early date.
More than 300 Taiwan compatriots from both sides of the strait, Hong Kong, Macao and overseas participated in the forum and spoke on topics such as "promoting integrated development and benefiting compatriots on both sides of the strait", "promoting non-governmental exchanges and achieving spiritual harmony", "leading the youth on both sides of the strait, and shouldering the responsibilities of the times". .
According to reports, the Forum on Taiwanese Associations is hosted by the National Taiwan Federation and is a non-governmental exchange and cooperation platform specially built for Taiwanese associations around the world.
Since the forum was first held in 2010, nearly 300 global Taiwanese associations and more than 800 leaders and representatives of Taiwanese associations have participated in the forum.
