A sort of Crimean scenario is envisaged

for the annexation that Russia will have on September 30 for the 4 Ukrainian regions in which the so-called farce referendums were voted on.

But if the

choreography of annexation is, in short, a well-established thing

, the

climate

in which this new forced extension of the territory of the Russian Federation takes place

seems decidedly different,

compared to the event 8 years ago.

Regarding tomorrow's ceremony, it is believed that it will be difficult for the slogan "we are together" scanned eight years ago by tens of thousands of people gathered on Red Square to celebrate "the return to Russia, their natural port, their home, Crimea and Sevastopol "- as the Russian President said from the stage, with tears in his eyes - can be repeated with the same sincerity as then.

The reception in the Kremlin

The ceremony for the signing of the treaties for the accession of the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia to the Russian Federation was set for tomorrow at three (local time, two in Italy).

Like March 18, 2014 for Crimea and Sevastopol, in the grandiose and shining Hall of St. George of the Grand Palace of the Kremlin, Putin and local leaders settled in the regions from Moscow will sign for the "accession of new territories".

Traffic will be blocked in a large part of Moscow

, and there will be a

concert on Red Square.

Even Putin himself, according to the Russian media, could be seen.

The Russian authorities who have been tasked with administering the regions in question have already arrived in Moscow to attend the event.

The ceremony of the signing of the treaties in 2014 took place, two days after the referendum, in front of the Federation Council and the Duma gathered together with the governors and other members of the elites, after a 47-minute speech by Putin interrupted 30 times by applause of those present.

The Russian President will also speak tomorrow, and his speech will be a "full-bodied speech", added Peskov, specifying only that the ratification vote of the Lower House of Parliament, with its other speech by Putin, will be held on Monday 3 October, and of the Council of the Federation Tuesday 4. As for the meetings with the administrative heads of the so-called People's Republics of Lugansk and Donetsk and with those of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, "naturally they will take place on the sidelines of the ceremony".

On 21 March eight years ago, at the conclusion of the process started with the referendum in the Peninsula on the Black Sea, the day ended with fireworks in various districts of Moscow and throughout Crimea, which are unlikely to be repeated now. .

8 years ago a shot was not fired, there were not tens of thousands of military deaths, there was no special military operation - only 'the little green men' entered into action, soldiers without elements of recognition that only a month later Putin confirmed as Russians - and above all there was no partial or general mobilization like the one that recently, in a few days, has caused hundreds of thousands of Russians to flee the country.

The pride of 2014 has been lost, the

From a legal point of view, on September 30, the Kremlin leader will have to sign a separate agreement with each of the so-called leaders of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson and present a constitutional bill on the acceptance of new territories.

Subsequently, the treaties will be "endorsed" by the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, then sent to the State Duma and the Federation Council for ratification.

Everything should take place between tomorrow and the beginning of next week, ending on October 7, the birthday of Putin who turns 70.

The responses to annexation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called an urgent meeting of the Security and Defense Council of Kiev for tomorrow, in conjunction with the signing ceremony of the treaties on the annexation of the territories of four Ukrainian regions to Russia, announced by the Kremlin.

This was announced by the presidential press office, quoted by Ukraine Pravda.

"We have said it very often, very clearly, very loudly: we do not accept these fake referendums organized by Russia in the territories occupied in Ukraine and we will never accept any annexation of territory or land grabbing by Russia."

Thus the spokeswoman of the European Commission, Dana Spinant, in the daily briefing with the press.

"Our answer is that we will never accept annexation and we are ready to make the Kremlin pay a heavy price for this new escalation in the conflict," she added.
