In Kalix, the Johannisberg youth home is in charge of emergency, investigation and treatment departments for boys cared for by LVU.

Behind high fences and gates, they normally have 44 places - but this year there will only be 33.

Too few are looking for jobs

As with many other institutions, staffing is the problem.

- The entire healthcare sector has concerns about recruiting and retaining staff.

We compete for the same staff as the prison service and the municipality and in some sense there is not a sufficiently large number of applicants for all positions, says Tomas Fjellvind.

They are currently fully booked with their 33 places, but so far they have managed to find places for everyone even if they can take an extra day.
